National Varroa Management Workshops commence next week.

National Varroa Management Workshops reminder 

Places for the first eight Varroa Management Training Workshops are filling fast. 

Next Tuesday 9 April beekeepers in Bega, Newcastle, Tamworth and Taree will be the first in the country to attend workshops delivered by the National Varroa Mite Management Program.  

On Wednesday 10 April beekeepers in Glen Innes, Macksville, Nowra and Port Stephens will have their opportunity to learn how to manage Varroa in their hives. 

And while places for some of these initial workshops are now limited, there are plenty of spaces for upcoming workshops in Penrith, Gymea, Hornsby, Wollongong, Ballina and Coffs Harbour.

All workshops are free to attend but registrations are essential as numbers are strictly limited.

Varroa: Industry Briefing

AHBIC will be providing members the honey bee industry a briefing on the progress of the Varroa mite Emergency Response.

About this event

Australian Honey Bee Industry Council (AHBIC) CEO Danny Le Feuvre will provide an update on the Varroa Mite Emergency Response in NSW, joined by key members of the response team from the NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI).

  • When: Wednesday 31 August, 6pm to 7pm EST

Varroa mite surveillance jobs available

The DPI are now recruiting beekeepers to conduct Varroa Mite Surveillance across regional NSW on a 12-month temporary full-time basis.
The salary range is from $87,000 to $110,000p.a + superannuation.

All regional NSW locations considered based on the need of the program
